A beautiful Hamptons-style house located in Surfers Paradise has recently been sold to a buyer from Sydney for a staggering $8.1 million. This sale has set a new record for the highest price ever paid for a canal-front property on the Isle of Capri.
The sale of the property, known as Driftwood and located at 18 Etna St, was facilitated by Sam Guo and Julia Kuo from Kollosche Broadbeach. The house, which is relatively new, caught the attention of buyers due to its stunning design and prime location.
The property was initially listed for sale in May 2023 with another agency. However, Sam Guo and Julia Kuo took over the marketing of the property in September and managed to secure the impressive sale within just two days of their marketing campaign. The agents had originally planned to take the property to auction in October, but the quick sale exceeded their expectations.
The design of Driftwood, created by Michelle Marsden, features porthole windows, herringbone planked floors, plantation shutters, barn doors, a navy and white color palette, and decorative plasterwork. The house boasts five bedrooms, a cinema, a lift, a wine cellar, a gas fireplace, and a seven-car basement garage. The open living, dining, and kitchen area seamlessly connects to the outdoor entertaining area, which includes a wood fireplace and an outdoor kitchen overlooking the pool.
The Isle of Capri has seen a number of significant sales this year, including the $24 million sale of 59 The Corso. However, the sale of Driftwood now holds the record for the highest price ever paid for a property on the Gold Coast in 2023.
